Published: 11 January 2012Applications are now open for Program Coordinator positions within CV!s Remote & Indigenous Team!
We are seeking applicants for the roles of:
Laverton Program Coordinator (1)
The R&I team are the 8-strong enthusiastic crew who run CV!s’ programs in Laverton, Leonora and Wiluna, as well as other Indigenous-based programs. We have high aims, work hard and have a lot of fun!
All in all a role on the team would involve 5-10 hours of activity per week, including a weekly meeting. End result? Incredible experiences in leadership, remote and Indigenous community development, and volunteering with a student-lead not-for-profit. It’s great if you already have some experience, but the most important things we’re looking for are open-mindedness, communication skills and enthusiasm.

Successful applicants will be notified in early February and a crucial community consultation trip will be organised around the community and team members for mid-February. Trips will be in full swing for semester one by March 2012!

Expand your volunteering horizons: Be a part of Relay for Life!
Published: 17 December 2011Relay For Life is the Cancer Council's fastest growing fundraiser and in 2012 it is coming to Curtin University! You can be a part of the first Relay For Life at Curtin by joining the organising committee.
As part of the committee, you will not only be helping to support the Cancer Council as it fights back against a disease that takes too much, but you will also have a chance to develop skills in project management, leadership, team work and communication.
They are looking for enthusiastic people to manage portfolios in:
· Entertainment : A fun and exciting role involving organising the entertainment, music and activities for the event. Great if you are creative and love to have fun!
· Logistics: Involves organising equipment for the event. Great for those who have good organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Ceremonies: A special role involving the planning of the ceremonies which occur throughout the event to celebrate those who have survived cancer, remember those we have lost and fight back against cancer in our community, as well as the awarding of prizes to teams.
· Mission Delivery: Involves developing and implementing a plan for cancer education activities
They are also looking for subcommittee members to help out with the above portfolios and with;
· Team Development
· Volunteers
· Media and Marketing
· Survivorship
· Catering
