CV! News and Volunteering Opportunities
An update from Homework Help!
Published: 14 May 2012Homework Help has, once again, been very successful this Semester with many volunteers giving up their time to help both primary and high school kids with their studies. It's so nice to see the schoolchildren learning and developing each week in a friendly and relaxed learning environment.

We always love seeing new faces so come along on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4.30-6.30pm in room 303.292!

Sports packed weekend trips with CV! Remote & Indigenous Programs
Published: 4 May 2012Does the idea of volunteering for major community sporting events sound like a great way to spend a weekend? How about if the location is out in West Australia’s Goldfield Region amongst the red earth of the desert?
Then don’t miss out on the Leonora Golden Gift and Wiluna Footy Fanatics weekends in June!!!
The Leonora Golden Gift Weekend can be summarised as follows – “A small outback town, elite athletes, $50,000 up for grabs, a bitumen street as the track. Combine this with dirt track horse racing, fireworks, market stalls, bands and street entertainment all weekend for the kids and you have yourself the outback experience that is Leonora’s Golden Gift Carnival!”
The Wiluna Footy Fanatics weekend will see volunteers heading to Wiluna for the Dalkeith-Nedlands versus Wiluna football game. But this weekend won’t be just about football, with plenty of community events and activities running over the two days, there will be plenty to do, see and people to meet. This annual football game draws crowds from Perth and all through the Goldfields and is a weekend not to be missed.
Both trips will run over the weekend of June 1-4th (during the study week) and volunteers will help out with these major community events.
If you’re interested in volunteering, download an Application Form Sem 1 and email to cv.indigenous@curtin.edu.au.
For further information contact the Remote & Indigenous team on 9266 9903, on the above email or visit us building 303, room 268.
