Speak Up!

This is a new program directed at International students wishing to improve their confidence when speaking Australian English. The organisers would absolutely love to have confident English-speaking Volunteers participate in a number of the sessions and activities - ranging from classroom discussions to off campus excursions (paid-for, transport provided) to the Warrdong Aboriginal Experience in King's Park, and the Bibbulmun track.

This program is a fabulous way to meet new people, and make a very worthwhile contrubition to new students' experiences at Curtin and in Australia. Speak Up runs on Wednesdays (all except for the Bibbulmum excursion which is on a Saturday) for 10 sessions during semester.

However, volunteers are only needed for 6-8 hours spread out over the semester as particular activities are more suited than others to conversation!
